For the last two months at around the same time in the month we experiencing a huge surge in traffic, all of it direct from Ireland. They seem to be bots crawling all of our product variant strings…This is happening all day yesterday and throughout the night. What is this, it never happened on our old Magento site?
It has happened a couple of other times since we moved to Shopify end of May last year.
This has also been happening to us for a while and its truly messing up our analytics.
Did you ever get Response? I’ve looked all over and see many still having this problem.
Apparently since no one can get answers from Shopify they’ve taken to other forums which is pretty sad that we have to do that.
The common theme seems to be Facebook scraping Shopify websites.
It also appears they are inflating visits with these bots scraping the sites which in turn cost us ad money.
This can’t be legal but I’m not sure why Shopify is allowing it to happen to its customers?
Has anyone gotten anything from Shopify support other than an obvious deflection saying we should try bot software which by all accounts (literally) hasn’t worked ?
I just opened online this past weekend and I’m seeing Clonee Ireland daily. Not running any fb or instagrams ads yet either. What is this?
Same here, and I am starting to find the same with some US behavior.
