Why isn't my contact form appearing on my page?

Topic summary

Contact page created in Shopify with template set to “contact,” but the form does not appear in preview or when added to menus. The user notes the code editor shows “nothing” for the page and is unsure whether to edit Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) or JavaScript.

Screenshots of the admin settings and page setup were shared, indicating the correct steps were taken to add a page and select the contact template. Images support the context but do not reveal the template code.

A responder requested a screenshot of the theme’s contact.liquid file (the contact page template) to verify whether the template exists and includes the contact form markup.

No resolution yet. Next action: provide the contact.liquid file screenshot. Key open question: whether the theme’s contact template is missing or customized in a way that removes the form.

I’m trying to add a contact page and I watched all the articles and videos on adding the contact page. I went to Shopify admin → pages → add page → typed the title “contact us” and changed the theme template from default page to contact. Then I saved and looked at the preview and nothing shows up. I thought maybe if I put it in the page like main menu or footer menu but the form still doesn’t show up. I don’t know if this would help but I tried to edit the code but there’s nothing in the editor. And I don’t know if I should go to themes and change the code in liquid or js.

Is there another way to make a contact form or does anyone know why the contact form isn’t showing up?
