Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with creating a Buy X, Get Y discount that will provide customers with a free gift. To ensure I’m fully understanding however, are both the Buy X and Get Y (i.e the free gift) products being added to the cart?
If not, this would be expected behaviour for an automatic discount. As it currently stands, both the Buy X, and Get Y products will need to be manually added to the cart by the customer to be successfully applied. I recommend checking out our Buy X, Get Y Discounts documentation for more information on this.
As I can completely understand how this may not be ideal, I’m more than happy to share this note with our developers. We are always looking for ways to improve the platform and appreciate the feedback.
Please let me know if after adding the Get Y product to the cart if the discount does not successfully apply. I look forward to your response!
