Why isn't my mobile navigation top link functioning?

Topic summary

Mobile navigation issue: top-level menu links that have dropdowns work on desktop but do not navigate on mobile; tapping them opens the submenu instead of following the link (site: sobah.com.au).

  • Behavior noted: On mobile, clicking the parent menu item triggers the submenu. Users need a way to open the submenu via an icon while still allowing the parent link to navigate.
  • Suggested fix: Implement custom JavaScript (JS) and Shopify Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) to separate interactions—e.g., icon tap toggles the dropdown, link tap navigates to the page.
  • Action recommended: Consult a Shopify developer to implement the custom JS/Liquid solution; assistance was offered by a participant.
  • Status: No solution applied yet; discussion remains open. Key next step is designing mobile-specific menu interactions without affecting desktop behavior.

Hi, I’m hoping someone can please help me with a coding issue.

The links work fine on desktop, but on mobile view for the links that are a parent to a drop down - they do not work.
Anyone know of a fix?

Hi @Allygatorly
While clicking on menu sub menu opening.
Have to open the menu using Icons.
This should be done using custom js and liquid.

Have to contact with ashopify developer.
