Why isn't my newsletter subscribe button working on debut theme?

Help! my subscribe button under newsletter is not working. Every time I type in a email either nothing happens or it takes me to another page which says “To continue, let us know your not a robot”. Once I finish finding all the matching photos and press submit, it takes me back to my website home page. I don’t even get a confirmation.

Have you tried to subscribe to your store’s newsletter on incognito mode or private browser window? You can also try to subscribe to the newsletter from another browser or device altogether, just so that we can rule out any device, browser, or caching issues.

Are you also using a third-party app to control your store’s newsletter subscription? Or do you perhaps have a third-party email app installed on your store?

If so, you can try to disable the app’s features if it’s available to do so within the app, to see if the issue will be fixed. You can also try and install a fresh copy of a Shopify theme by going to Online store > Themes > Explore free themes and select a theme to add to your library. From there, click on Actions > Preview, and you can then test your store’s subscription button to see if you can successfully subscribe to your newsletter.

If the issue doesn’t persist on the fresh theme, chances are a third-party app is interfering with how your subscription form is meant to function. If you or a developer working on your store have made any code changes recently to your theme, the newly added code may also be the cause of this issue.

I have tried to subscribe to newsletter on both my desktop, ipad, and iphone and got the same thing. Then, I went to my duplicated theme and tried to subscribe and got 404 Page Not Found. I also tried a different theme and got the same thing as the first initial problem. I did try different marketing apps such as postscript sms, privy, sms marketing, and mailchimp. As of now, the only app I have added is postscript sms. I think it could be in my codes, I just don’t know where to look.

Ah I see, thanks for that added information. In this case you can contact our live support team using the link I sent through in my first reply. Our team will be able to troubleshoot this together with you and if needed, escalate the matters to either our technical team or one of the app developers, if it does turn out to be an app related issue.

Same issue happening for me. Is it possible to find the app which is having issue??
