Why isn't my post getting responses on the forum?

I have just joined and posted some questions a few days ago and nobody replied.

I then messaged Ketan Kumar ( a top rated shopify expert answering a lot) asking for help and he messaged me asking for info which I emailed him but since he has replied to other posts and not to me.

Is there a priority here to getting help? It’s not very user friendly in my experience

Hi @stargazer78

Thank you for sharing your experience so far and I am sorry to hear that it has not been as welcoming as we strive for. I’ll be happy to have a look at your questions to see if I can answer them and hopefully help improve your time within our community.

It is important to know that the partners and developers that help out in the community forums do so in their own free time and are not compensated for their efforts. We have a great community of experts who spend a lot of time answering questions for new and seasoned merchants but there is no obligation for them to help other than their own desire to do so. We appreciate all the work they do!

We also recommend searching the community forums for topics similar to your own questions as there is a good chance you are going to find the answer inside another thread! No worries if you can’t find one, as we always do our best to help.

I can see your previous post here: Dawn theme customizations - Shopify Community , lets see if I can help answer some of your questions!

1. I have used a certain font but on the product grid list the title looks so small in comparison to the price - how can I increase this?

You can learn more about adjusting the font or typography in your store theme in our Help Center here: Theme settings · Shopify Help Center. You can adjust the font size and style from within the theme settings.

2. The description and product details tabs that collapse - should I change the code or use an app?

I’m not sure what you mean here, could clarify a bit more about what you want to change?

3. Is there a quick way of duplicating product descriptions and details for the same items in a collection?

You can either duplicate the product itself and then change the name/images or import the products in bulk using a CSV. The CSV will allow you to copy and paste the product descriptions across multiple products quickly and efficiently. You can learn more about CSVs HERE.

4. Size charts - what is the best way to add sizing for T-shirts and bags for example?

There is no best way or right or wrong way to add your product sizing. You can either add it into the product description as a simple table or image or add an image of the size chart into the product images itself. If it is the same across all products you can also have a dedicated page to sizing and measurements as well.

5. Best way for local currencies? App or coding?

App is definitely the best way for this! I can recommend the Shopify Geolocation App which can add this feature to your store.

When asking future questions I would recommend to ask 1-2 per post as it is easier for members to answer :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Shay,

you say experts reply in their won good time as a gesture of free goodwill but there’s clearly a motivation to do so by collecting points and badges which brings them business. Also I have noticed some people get help repeatedly and others like me not known or not with enough points get ignored.

For the font issue, I am aware of what you recommended but the issue is that the price font is bigger than the product title when there are products in a grid. I don’t want to increase it as it changes the font entirely across everywhere.

As for the description, there are collapsible boxes for each product material and description. What is the best way to do this?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the additional information @stargazer78 .

In regards to getting help in our community, all I can say is that truly isn’t the case and we have dozens of new merchants joining us here every day and getting support and help with their store.

For the font sizing that sounds like it will most likely require some coding to adjust so that it doesn’t use the universal option in the theme. I would recommend reposting that question specifically in the Shopify Design area of our forums to see if our developer friends can help. Please make sure to provide a screenshot of the text you want to change as well as a link to a page on your store that includes the text.

The collapsible content boxes for the product pages are built in directly to the theme itself. You can connect pages (which can be left unlisted on the main website) to fill in the information from that page.

If you don’t like the setup or prefer something different, the stackable content can be done through HTML in the product description box, through custom coding in the theme file itself or through an app. Again, no right or wrong way, just whatever way is preferable to you. I personally recommend using the content built into the theme as there is less chance of the code causing issues or slowing the site down with an app.

thank you that’s helpful

Hi Shay,

I have since tested the solution of adding the drop down product details into the product information tabs as you suggested but it seems to duplicate the info as standard for all products. That is also the case for the size chart.

I thought by going into the each product you can pages or details relevant to the product itself? How can i do that please ?

Also, how can I add size chart relevant to collections or to each product that it being duplicated across?

Thank you
