Why isn't my store deactivation working?

Hi, I am trying to close my store down but the deactivation is not working and I am putting the right password it’s still tells me it’s wrong and I have tried closing everything but still not working please help. Thank you

I appreciate the context that you have shared with us as that is very helpful! Are you able to confirm that you are logged in as the Admin of the online store? If you are logged into a staff account, you will not be able to close the online store until you are logged in as the store owner.

I would suggest attempting to Reset your password and then try to Deactivate your store to see if that works. If you happen to experience the same error message, I would suggest reaching out to our live support for further assistance.

Once you successfully log in, or select the option to Continue without logging in - you will be directed to the Help Center. Reset/change your store password and try logging in to your store. Follow the below steps after logging in to your store.

  1. Login to Shopify admin
  2. Settings > Plan
  3. Click Deactivate store.
  4. Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.
  5. Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.

You receive an email to confirm that your store’s deactivated.
