Why isn't my store showing the correct variant images?

Hello, I hope someone can help me. For some reason when a variant is selected in my store the variant image does not change to the proper one and the main image remains. For instance, if the color blue is selected for the product, it does not display the proper image. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

Hey @NOLAKitchen ,

You will want to make sure that each variant is assigned the correct picture for it’s colour. If you navigate in your admin to Products > Click on a product > under the “Variants” section, check which photo is assigned next to each variant (on the left). For example, it would look something like this:

You want to make sure that you haven’t only uploaded the photos under the “Images” section, but have assigned each variant a specific photo as well.

If images are already assigned, we would need to investigate further! Are you utilizing a product variant app by chance? Often we see issues similar to this when the app hasn’t been configured properly or doesn’t work with a theme.

Talk soon,

Hi thank you so much for the quick response. All variants have there
pictures loaded correctly in the product page.
I am using the impulse theme and the only apps I am using are Dsers,
vitals, and Klaviyo.
Everything was working properly yesterday morning. Yesterday evening
someone went in to the theme and edited something that was causing my
prices to display improperly. That problem was solved, and then I
discovered this new issue. Could this be related?

@NOLAKitchen

Thank you for providing further context on the issue! I suspect that the theme code being edited could be the root cause, especially if everything was working as normal the day before. If you’ve changed theme files and need to revert them, you can roll back .liquid files individually to a time and date before you made the changes.

Note: We always suggest you first duplicate the theme and work in the duplicate. That way you can always go back to your previous version.
