All of a sudden our store will no longer push users from the cart to checkout. Every time we click checkout on the cart page it simply refreshes. I have tested this across Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, on both Mobile and Desktop and the same issue is present. Is anyone else having this issue? I don’t see any issues listed on Shopify’s Status page.
Interestingly, if I hit checkout enough times it finally pushes me to the checkout page, almost as if my store is overwhelmed with traffic, however, we have less than 10 visitors at the time of writing this. I do see a 429 code listed in the website developer tool via Safari. I don’t know much about this, but if a 3rd party app was under a DDOS attack, let’s say an app from the Shopify store, could that cause checkout issues for stores connected to that app?
I’ve run into the same issue, I also have noticed in the past few weeks I have had a HUGE push of items being added to cart all at once even though I have only 10 or so visitors on the site at the moment. I don’t know where it is coming from but that has been concerning to me.
Today orders stopped around 12:40 and I have had no more orders since. No changes have been made to the site in over a month, including adding or removing products. I couldn’t get things to work on my phone, laptop or desktop in various browsers and etc.
In contacting Shopify support they have told me they are working on it and currently are contacting the theme developer to see what they can do to resolve it. The code seems to be not working somewhere but that is all i know.
The theme I am using is Canopy and it is the theme I have used since i built the store originally. Never ran into an issue like this before. Very frustrating as I have lost out in hundreds of dollars in orders today because of this. Had to pause all of my ad campaigns on Facebook and Google so im not losing money from that. It is really frustrating just having to wait to see if they can fix the issue.
Facing the same issue here! Shopify informed us that it might be due to a Google Tag Manager. Still faced the same issue even after trying to remove the tags and even reverting back to our old themes but the same issue was faced. Checked with other Shopify stores in the same country as us but most seem to work fine. Any ideas on how to solve this ASAP?
