Why isn't my transferred domain from WIX working properly?

I transferred over from WIX and somehow screwed it up. Im not sure what to do.

  • Error fetching domain CAA record: Open your domain provider’s DNS settings for www.deadsticksgolf.com and check that the record is set correctly. Note that record updates can take up to 48 hours to come into effect.
  • Error fetching domain CNAME record: Open your domain provider’s DNS settings for www.deadsticksgolf.com and check that the record is set to shops.myshopify.com. Note that record updates can take up to 48 hours to come into effect.
  • Error fetching domain nameserver record: Open your domain provider’s DNS settings for www.deadsticksgolf.com and check that the record is set correctly. Note that record updates can take up to 48 hours to come into effect.

When connecting a third-party domain, it’s important to ensure that the DNS records are correctly pointing towards Shopify. To learn more about this, you can check out our Connecting Third-Party Domains document as it touches on this further.

These DNS Records include:

  • Point the A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
  • If necessary, change the Host name to the @ symbol.
  • Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
  • Point the CNAME record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com

After taking a closer look, it seems the A Record is not correctly pointing towards Shopify. Due to this, you will want to ensure this adjustment is made to allow for the domain to successfully connect to the shop.

It’s important to note that it might take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified. After it’s verified, your domain is listed in the THIRD-PARTY DOMAINS section of the Domains page with the status Connected.
