Theme translations stopped updating; an old Bulgarian message still appeared on the checkout “thank you” page despite edits and cache clearing. Screenshots were shared to show the mismatch.
Reinstalling the Translate & Adapt app was suggested but dismissed due to extensive existing translations and because the app doesn’t maintain its own cache; it surfaces data from Shopify’s API.
Root cause was confirmed as a technical issue on the Translate & Adapt side, not user error.
Workaround: consolidate locale translation files by using only bg.json and removing bg-BG.json. These are theme locale JSON files (per-language/per-region) that store translated strings; duplicates or conflicts can cause outdated text to appear.
Action taken: the user located bg.json and bg-BG.json, edited the conflicting strings in the second file, and resolved the issue. Keeping only bg.json was advised.
Outcome: resolved. Further technical fixes are in progress by the Translate & Adapt team; no internal store cache needed to be cleared.

While this is being worked on, you can fix your translation issue by consolidating the content in your bg.json and bg-BG.json files and then only keep the one named bg.json. Does that help? Let me know!
