Variant price is not updating even after switching to basic shopify theme

Congratulations on getting a store up and running!
When you say that the variant price is not updating, do you mean that if a visitor clicks on different variants the price does not change to reflect this?
If so, this is expected behavior. A product price will remain the same, regardless of which variant is being chosen. If you’d like to charge different prices, you will need to create new separate products for each new price.
