Why isn't the new US 227 area code recognized on shop.app?

Hi, I have a functioning mobile phone number in the new US Maryland 227 area code. When I try and enter a phone number with this area code at https://shop.app/pay/account#/ it says it is an invalid phone number. I believe the software needs to be updated to understand that there is a new area code in the US that came online in September 2023. Please feel to reach out to me on email / phone to verify the number in question is real.

To reproduce -

1 Visit https://shop.app/pay/account#/

2 Click Login & Security

  1. Click ‘Change’ next to ‘Mobile number’

  2. Enter 227 then type 368 then type 6322

  3. Click Continue

The expected behavior is the number is stored or confirmed somehow. Instead an error message is displayed, “Please enter a valid mobile phone number”.

Note this is not my real number, just a similar number to validate that 227 area code numbers don’t function. Please feel free to reach out to get my real mobile number on a US carrier.
