I think there should be a filter on the actual Inventory page, not just the product page. I find it frustrating when I’m trying to put an order together and archived products show up on the inventory page without showing them as archived. I have a lot of vendors and thousands of products and variants in my shop and I don’t like that there is no way to tell if a product with 0 is archived without having to click on it. It usually takes me a few months after archiving a product to delete them because I still want the data for reports. And I don’t want to have to take extra steps to download and go through a CSV file to filter it out. Thoughts?

Hi @BlankCanvasArt .. are you trying to filter on /products/inventory page. Saw there is an option to select products which are active. Maybe you want to do this on another page ?

Hey @BlankCanvasArt — I’ve been deep in Shopify’s product/inventory data lately and hit this exact gap. The annoying part isn’t the archiving itself, it’s that a 0-qty row on the Inventory page gives you no way to tell “archived” from “just out of stock” without clicking in.

A couple of native things that get you most of the way there without the CSV export/re-import every time:

  1. Build the filter you want right in the Inventory search bar, then Save → Save as new view. It pins as a tab, so next time it’s one click instead of re-filtering every session. Archived products drop out of sales channels, so filtering by a channel they aren’t in is one way to effectively exclude them.

  2. In the view’s display options, look for a Hide archived toggle — on the Inventory list it does what it says. Worth checking before building anything more complicated.

Neither is the real status = active/archived filter you’re asking for on that page, and honestly it should just exist natively. But a saved view means you set it up once and reuse it instead of exporting every time.
