why shopify unilaterally deactivated my store without any policy violation?

Hello,

My store was deactivated because supposedly I didn’t send my business verification documentation to shopify, but the main issue is that shopify didn´t request these documents before. I didn’t receive any notification or something on complying before with this, so they enter to deactivate my store in a unilateral way saying that they haven’t received my support as if I have not complied with this when this is the first time I am aware of this request.

Obviously I appeal with all the documents but now my business is deactivated and I can’t even take my domain (that is mine) at this moment to another platform. I already opened a wix account and as soon as I finish with the appealing process I will leave shopify because nobody has answered me, why shopify took this unilateral decision without having a first formal request on my business verification documents?

Last but not least, today has been 3 days from my appealing request and there is no answer.

Regards

That sounds incredibly frustrating. Shopify usually requests business verification documents if there’s a compliance check, but it’s concerning that you weren’t notified beforehand. Since you’ve already submitted an appeal, I recommend reaching out via Twitter/X (@ShopifySupport) or Shopify’s support forums for quicker escalation. If you still don’t get a response, consider contacting your domain registrar (if purchased externally) to regain access to your domain. Hopefully, Shopify resolves this soon, but if you’re transitioning to Wix, ensure you back up all essential store data

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I have reached shopify support center every day since my appeal and the only answer I get is “we have escalated this to the internal team… sorry we have a limited scope on this” and as of today, 6 days has passed and still haven’t got any answers. I will try through twitter/x to see if I have any luck.

Unfortunately I bought my domain with Shopify because I was naive in this type of situation. I trusted Shopify as a transparent provider, but unfortunately I was wrong.
