Main issue: A store owner manually paid an overdue Shopify store subscription, then noticed two charges—one intended manual payment and an unexpected automatic payment. They shared a screenshot of the billing email to illustrate the duplicate charge.
Support response: Staff explained they cannot authenticate or access account-specific billing details via the public Community forum due to sensitive information. To investigate the charges, the store owner must verify their identity as the store owner through Shopify’s live support, accessed via the Help Center link provided.
Actions/next steps: Contact Shopify live support to authenticate and review the billing charges, determine why the automatic payment occurred, and discuss possible remedies (e.g., refund if applicable).
Status: Unresolved within the thread; outcome pending after private support review. Key unanswered question: whether the second (automatic) charge was valid and how it will be addressed.
I have just recently paid an overdue payment on my store subscription. But when I check I was charged two times. One of them I meant to pay however the other one was paid automatically and I did not want to spend any more then I already had after forgetting for nearly a month.
I will put an image of the billing email I got( of the one I didn’t know about)
I appreciate the screenshot and context that you have included as that is very helpful! Looking into this, in order for us to take a further look to identify the charge - we will need to verify you as the store owner. Since we cannot authenticate over the Community forums due to the sensitive information that needs to be shared, I am unable to view the specifics.
In this case, it would be best to get in touch with our live support by navigating to our Help Center.
