Yesterday we connected our shopify account to eBay. However, an hour later, we received an email from eBay telling that the account was permanently suspended because they think it puts their community under a high risk. They did not give any specific reason as to why our account poses a risk. We sell electronics for elevator repair and had not even published anything when the account got suspended. Has anyone had a similar situation? And if you have resolved it somehow, I would appreciate you sharing your experience.
These questions pertain to eBay, there could be numerous reasons for suspension.

The reply here from @Nick_Marketing is a very lazy answer. I’ve encountered the exact same issue, so decided to setup an experiment:

setup ebay seller account, left for 24 hours - no problem

listed an item on ebay directly using ebay listing tool - no problem

synched one product from Shopify (my own handmade product, not a dropshipping item) - within minutes account suspended
Ergo if this had been an issue with my ebay account, ebay listing information etc. then my account would have been suspended prior to step 3. Only the insertion of a Shopify product into ebay triggers the suspension.
In the absence of any helpful insight my guess would be there is a bug in the Shopify->Ebay integration which is triggering this issue.
It looks like I’m adding a year later here and…same issue. Shopify integrated to a new account, we didn’t even log in yet and it was suspended. After about 100 messages on chat, keep asking to be escalated to the manager, then the manager says the same thing. Keep saying you never listed any product, new account, Shopify integration issue. Maintaining a calm chat 
and eventually, it is being escalated to some internal team for a review…not sure yet of the outcome…
3 of our eBay accounts got permanently suspended just after linking to Shopify via Shopify’s own App, Marketplace Connect. We experienced the same issue 2-3 years ago and now 2 days ago in 2024.
Both Shopify and eBay are adamant not to resolve these frustrating issues for sellers like me and you.

Frankly I wouldn’t bother - Ebay is a race to the bottom on price and gave up on the idea of selling there long ago.
The buffoons at Ebay - and yes Shopify - hide behind excuses and finger pointing whilst being slaves to unaccountable bots. Truly awful behaviour by both companies.
