I have created a manual collection. I added it to my navigation, and it (the name of the collection) shows up in the top toolbar of my preview website. I then went to the store editor and added a “featured collection” section. Yet no matter how many times I “change the collection” to my created collection, the collection on my page won’t change to my chosen collection, it simply reads in each of the four boxes “Example product title $19.99 USD”. This issue is driving me insane, how do I resolve this? Is there someone I can call to help?

When you add a featured collection section to a page, as long as you connect the collection you want to appear in that section, those boxes you described should display the products in that specific collection. The exact steps can differ depending on the theme you’re using, but generally you would want to click the Featured collection section in your theme editor and then click Change or Select collection under the Collection setting. I’ll include some examples of what this can look like below. After making these changes to the section, you’ll also want to make sure that you save your changes. If you’re following these steps and you’re still seeing those placeholder boxes instead of your products, I recommend double checking that the collection you connected is set up correctly in your Shopify admin. You can check this by going to Products > Collections in your Shopify admin and selecting the specific collection you’re working with. From here, make sure the collection has products added to it.
