Why won't my sidebar filter recognize '0' in product tags?

Topic summary

Sidebar filter in a Shopify store fails to recognize product tags that include the character “0.” The filter accepts tags like “Group 2/3” and “Group 1/2/3,” but rejects “Group 0+” and “Group 0/1/2/3,” even though those tags exist on products.

  • Context: Product tags (labels used to categorize and filter products) are being used to drive a sidebar filter.
  • Observation: The issue appears specific to tags containing “0,” suggesting a parsing/validation quirk or limitation in the filter’s handling of zero.
  • Evidence: An attached image (filter configuration screenshot) supports the setup and the mismatch between tags and recognized options.

No workaround or solution is provided yet, and the cause is not confirmed. The thread is open and unresolved, with the poster asking whether Shopify has an issue with zeros in tag-based filters.

Hello, apologies if not in quite the right section.

I am trying to add a filter to one of my filter on my sidebar but it’s not recognising any filter with a ‘0’ in it.

It will accept Group 2/3, and Group 1/2/3 but it won’t accept ‘Group 0+’ or ‘Group 0/1/2/3’ despite them being tags within products.

I am guessing it has something to do with Shopify not liking '0’s?

thanks
