Hi, I noticed the other day That when I click to view my website or use my URL ArtToMiss.com . it says the site can not be reached. when you go and put the URL into website testers, it says the website is down for everyone and I’ve also tried multiple devices. I even attempted to replace my theme with a blank one but to no avail, my website isn’t running. I was wondering if anyone had any solutions because I can’t progress with advertising or do much of anything with my Shopify account with this problem and I’ve already paid for a year.
Hey @MentalDaniel .
Thanks for reaching out.
I appreciate the context that you have shared with us as that is very helpful! If you are able to successfully login to your online store but you cannot load into your online store website - it may be an issue with the domain in use. Did you purchase this domain (ArtToMiss.com) directly off of the Shopify platform? Or, did you connect your third-party domain to your online store?
You may be able to have your online store live immediately once again by changing your primary domain by navigating to Settings > Domains and selecting the domain you wish to make the primary. This should allow your online store to load successfully without running into this error.
With that being said, if you are using a third-party domain to connect to your store, we will need to check the DNS settings of the domain. You can Change your DNS settings on the third-party domain to have it successfully pointed towards your store.
Looking forward to your response, let me know if you have any questions.
Hi, I purchased my domain through Shopify. I also tried changing my primary domain to the default Shopify domain, which didn’t resolve the issue. I stripped my Shopify store of all but the essential apps, but that didn’t seem to resolve the problem either. are there any other possible troubleshooting steps I could take?
i also get the error code DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN when I attempt to load the website
and for some reason changing my domain did work but only for a minute. I changed my domain and theme. then the website started working. then I changed my theme to my fully developed theme and the website stayed live. then I changed it back to my original domain then the store went back down. but here’s where it gets confusing. after that changing my domain had no effect on my website’s status. then no matter what domain or theme combination I used the store stayed down.
Hey @MentalDaniel .
Thanks for the quick response and providing that context.
In this case, we will need to take a closer look into the online store and domains to see what may have caused this issue and how this can be avoided. Since I cannot authenticate you over the Community forums due to the sensitive information that would need to be shared, I am unable to look into the specifics. It would be best and more secure to login to your online store using our Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner.
Once you successfully login, or select the option to Continue without logging in - you will be directed to the Help Center. Select the topic that you would like assistance with to locate the options to Get Support and speak directly with a Support Advisor about the situation.
