Why won't my website load on Firefox despite clearing cache and cookies?

Hi,

My web site won’t load on Firefox.

I did clear all cache and cookies as advised. I also unintalled firefox and re-installed with a fresh version of firefox, the web site still won’t load.

This is the error message:

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at www.dreampond.com.

If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

Try again later.
Check your network connection.
If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web.

It’s loading fine for me on Firefox.

My developer just fixed it. Thanks for letting us know.

Hi, @dreampond .

We’re glad to hear your issue has been resolved!

I had a chance to check out your website and you’ve done a great job of clearly displaying your products and designing it so it’s easy to navigate. I’d love to know how you got started with your business and what you’re currently working on.

I noticed you haven’t had a chance yet to integrate social media icons or an FAQ page on your storefront. Displaying your social media icons on your storefront can help drive traffic to those social platforms, increase brand visibility and engagement.

I’ll share steps and screenshots within my test store of how to set this up.

How to add social media icons:

Navigate to your Online Store > Themes > Customize section within your Shopify admin.

Within the Theme Editor, click Theme Settings > Social Media.

You’ll then be able to input your social platform URL in the required field.

I’d like to share our Shopify Blog resource on building an FAQ page. Having an FAQ page is a great way to alleviate purchasing anxieties customers may have and answer customers’ questions. If you’re not sure where to start, our blog resource includes some helpful examples.

Let us know if you have any additional questions, I’ll be happy to help!

Keep up the great work.

Hey, can you tell me how you solved it? I have same problem but don’t know how to fix it

Hi, @milanstojanovic .

Welcome to the Shopify community and thank you for joining the thread.

I understand you’re experiencing the same issue on your end. Could you share the following information so we can gather more details:

  • Share your store URL
  • What browser are you using?
  • Does the issue replicate on other browsers (eg. Safari or Google Chrome)
  • Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?
  • Does the issue happen on a mobile device, desktop device or both?

I look forward to hearing back and troubleshooting further.

I am having this problem now. My website will not work on Firefox www.korenpub.com. Cannot type in search bar & totally unresponsive to mouse clicks. This is not happening in other browers.

I had routinely ussed firefox to view our website before the problems occured about 2 months ago. I have had a developer working on it and he cannot find a solution.

I have already cleared my cache and cookies and reinstalled firefox. Is it possible that new updates in shopify are not compatible with Firefox?

Thanks

Laura Messinger

Hi, @laurakoren .

Thanks for posting to the Shopify Community!

When searching www.korenpub.com on Firefox, I was able to access your website, click into the navigation menus and use the search bar as expected. I’ve also tried accessing your website on other browsers such as (Safari and Google Chrome) with no issues as well. I’ll share a screenshot below of what I see on my end.

On your end, could you try launching Firefox browser and trying the following steps:

  • In the Firefox web browser, click the 3 dots in the far right corner.
  • Select Settings > Delete browsing data.
  • Make sure all boxes are checked and click Delete browsing data.

Secondly, could you ensure the browser is up to date? The latest version is Firefox 112.0.1. You can check what version you have by clicking the 3 dots in the far right corner > Settings > About Firefox.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps to go through:

  • Try disabling add-ons in Firefox. To disable add-ons, go to the Firefox menu, click on “Add-ons,” and select “Extensions.” From there, you can disable or remove any add-ons that may be causing problems.
  • Check your system for Malware. Malware can cause issues with Firefox and other programs on your computer. Use a reputable anti-malware program to scan your computer for any malware or viruses.
  • If none of the above methods work, you can try resetting Firefox to its default settings. To do this, go to the Firefox menu, click on “Help,” and select “Troubleshooting Information.” From there, click on “Refresh Firefox” and follow the prompts.

Let us know if these methods have helped or if you continue to experience issues on your end.

Make sure that “Enhanced Tracking Protection” is turned off for the site.
