Why would a (1) suddenly appeared before our page title on a google search result?

Hello,

Does anybody know why would a (1) suddenly appeared before our page title on a google search result? Please see the attached screenshot. The (1) is not included on our back end.

I’ve seen instances of that happen due to chatbot apps installed on the homepage.

Hi @Irena ,

totally agree with @Nick_Marketing . I’ve also seen the issue with some other stores, which use a chatbot on their store. Check the apps you’re using.

Hi @Irena ,

from my point of view, I think the main problem is that it doesn’t look professional for your potential visitors. If your website shows in SERP and there’s the (1) before the page title, it may look a little bit tricky, untrustworthy for some people…? And in the end, it could have a negative impact on the CTR.

Plus, from the SEO point of view, the (1) shouldn’t be in the page title. The page title should briefly describe the page itself, and (1) isn’t helping in this case. So, I would rather get rid of it.
