Will I get a refund after downgrading my advanced plan?

Yesterday I upgraded my Plan to advanced Shopify, but the next day I changed it to Shopify. My Card was actually charged for Advanced Shopify, I wonder if I will be refunded for that. Is that correct?

With regards to your billing inquiry, we always recommend reaching out to our live support team as we cannot access such information over the Community and other social channels.

Based on the information you have mentioned however, given that you opted to downgrade after being charged already the Advanced fee, the excess amount of fees you paid would’ve been moved as credit in your Shopify account to be used for future plan charges.

On downgrading, we automatically issue you with a subscription credit for the prorated difference between the two plans for your current cycle. Here’s an example to make it clearer:

Merchant was charged $299 USD for the Advanced Plan 10 days ago and they decide to move back to the Basic Plan. They have used 10 days of the Advanced Plan which roughly equates to $99.67 USD and they will be using 20 days of the Basic Plan which is roughly $19.33 USD, so $299 USD - $99.67 USD - $19.33 USD = $180 USD.

Given that it was only a day, you can inquire with our live support team as to how much that exactly turned out to be, if any at all.
