Is there any chance shopify upgrades its express theme to 2.0?

This year we’ve released 9 new free themes compatible with Online Store 2.0. If you are looking for updated features included in your theme I would consider switching to one of these themes going forward. You can read more about the benefits of Online Store 2.0 here if you’re interested. You can also find a list of Online Store 2.0 themes on this page. If you are looking for something similar to Express I would recommend the free themes Taste by Shopify or Crave by Shopify. These themes were created with the food and drink industry in mind like Express.
That being said, if you would like Online Store 2.0 functionality with Express you can still do this on your end by migrating Express manually. The steps to do this can be found in this guide here. If you’d like to go this route and you’re not comfortable coding yourself, you can hire a Shopify expert to assist you.
