Will using empty custom liquid section affect SEO?

I have used some custom liquid sections on my website as paddings, and I am wondering if it will affect my SEO. Does anyone know the answer to it? Thanks.

No it will not negatively affect SEO, it adds bloat to the website and there are probably better ways to add padding but I assure Google and other search engines will flat out ignore it. I recommend reading Google’s official docs: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/seo-starter-guide

Good to know, was using that as a temporary solution as my site has some weird issue in certain pages unless i add padding to it, thanks for the quick reply!

No problem @cpu235 , you’re biggest bang for buck for SEO would be focusing on writing authentic content and getting fantastic page speed scores. You can test you own website with Google’s free tool here: https://pagespeed.web.dev/

I understand what you mean with theme spacing, I work with many Shopify stores and it’s a common issue that I end up creating custom code for to solve. Glad I could help, all the best with everything.
