Hi all,
I’ve been exploring an idea and wanted some feedback before taking it further.
The concept is a simple monthly summary that shows your store’s key metrics at a glance. It’s not a dashboard — more of a one-pager sent monthly that includes:
- Total sales, orders, and AOV
- Top products
- New vs returning customers
- Inventory flags (optional)
- A short summary paragraph, generated using AI, describing what changed since last month
Here’s a sample mockup for context:
Would something like this be valuable as a monthly check-in, or would most store owners prefer using their existing dashboards?
Appreciate any honest thoughts.
I like it. I would also recommend a sales by category or subcategory so if products are sold within categories, a simple breakdown of where the sales are actually being made would be very useful.
Thanks so much Realest_Z. I really appreciate the encouragement and the thoughtful feedback.
I agree that busy merchants need quick visibility without having to dig around. Your point about incorporating product-level trends by day is a good one. That could definitely help inform both reporting and future marketing strategy.
I also liked the idea of using color indicators in more complex tables. If I expand beyond the one-page format, that might be a smart way to show what needs attention without overwhelming the layout.
One thing I wanted to clarify. Toward the end, were you suggesting that delivery options like email, Slack, or a panel link should adapt based on how each merchant works? That makes sense to me. I just want to be sure I understood your point correctly.
Thanks again for taking the time. This has been really helpful.
Thanks you so much! I really like your suggestion about including sales by category or subcategory. That’s a great way to give more context on where revenue is actually coming from, especially for stores with a wide product range. I’ll definitely look into how to include that in the report format. Appreciate the input!
