I have 2 Shopify stores, never done SEO.
would you recommend hiring fulltime job for this? Is there sufficient work to be done?
we only do facebook ads but want to start building search authority and credibility and more ways for people to find us.
im thinking for this role to do all things SEO but more focused on content, is that the right approach?

im thinking of hiring a fulltime person because agencies i have talked with cost around 1-2k and for that amount i can get a fulltime hire here (LATAM) and seems that the deliverables of agencies are very limited with that budget.

also, we have never done SEO because i just dont hear a lot about it in the ecommerce industry. does it really work? or are we just distracting ourselves? thanks

SEO will work if people “search” for products that you sell. Do they? First, answer this question. If they don’t, you’d better continue investing in FB, where you target an audience that makes impulse purchases.

If SEO is a valid option, then you are right - content is the most essential part of SEO.

Your new hire will need to come up with topics related to your products, and those topics should be something your potential customers are searching for.

SEO is great because you invest once, and then you can use the traffic coming from this content for many years. However, finding a niche audience and topics is essential.
