Would you share some SEO tips for e-commerce business with many products?

What would be the best practise?

Many ecomm business have thousands of sku and usually each product sku will have its own separate page.

Ocassionally the products are very similar and a close variants.

Would having similar (not the same) title, meta description, H1, url cause an issue with SEO?

Example

Brand A USB-C TO USB-C Braided cable 1M

Brand A USB-C M-M Braided cable 2M

Brand B USB-C Braided charging cable 2M

And many more variants…

So how do we best approach the title, meta description, H1, url on this type of business /website?

  1. Be highly specific in your title tags and h1 headings. This will help search engines differentiate between listings and surface the right products.
  2. Build lots of collections to organize your products based on how users search for them.
    1. So in your example, you’d have a collection for “USB-C to USB-C Cables,” “Brand A USB-C Cables,” Brand B USB-C Cables," “1M USB-C Cables,” “2M USB-C Cables,” etc.
