I’m part of the team behind GROOPIE — a Shopify app for merchants who use separate products per color/style and link them with swatches on product and collection pages (combined listings / product groups).
We’re exploring an in-app AI chat so you could manage groups with prompts instead of clicking through every field. For example:
• “Add these 3 products to my Classic Tee – Colors group”
• “Change this group to image swatches”
• “Create a group from all products tagged summer-tee”
• “Remove the draft product from this group”
Before we build it, we’d love your honest input.
1) Do you manage product groups often enough that this would save real time?
2) Which tasks would you want AI to handle first? (create group, edit products, swatch type, auto-group from tags/title, something else?)
3) What would make you trust it — preview before save, undo, showing exactly which products would change, etc.?
4) Anything you’d not want AI to touch in your catalog?
