Would you want a wishlist built into your Shopify theme — no app required?

I’m currently building a wishlist directly into Shopify themes with no wishlist app or monthly app fee required.

So far it supports multiple wishlists, product variants, adding from product cards and cross-device syncing.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’d love to hear from merchants:

Would you use something like this instead of a wishlist app? And what feature would you absolutely want it to have?

Hi @Michael-Thomas Welcome To Shopify Community So No monthly fee is the strongest pitch here, wishlist apps are one of those recurring costs a lot of merchants resent paying for something that’s conceptually simple, so a native theme-based solution with no ongoing subscription would genuinely appeal to smaller stores watching their app costs. The feature I’d want most is guest wishlist persistence, letting someone add to a wishlist before creating an account (stored locally/by device) and then merging it into their account once they do sign up or log in, a lot of wishlist apps force account creation upfront which loses casual browsers who aren’t ready to commit yet. Cross-device sync is great for logged-in users, but the drop-off usually happens before that stage if account creation is required just to save one item. That is interesting, nice working solution. But I would rather hear how you managed to store data? In customer accounts. You may have some local storage, Customer Account API, Flow? But still, you manage to do something that was not possible in past, so great job on that.

Note, there are 3-4 fully free whishlist apps, with good reviews so a lot of people will not bother with your setup, how ever easy or complex it may be.
