Wrong hreflang-tags, how do I clean them up?

Hi!

I am troubleshooting a webstore: https://strawbystraw.com/

The website has two sets of hreflang-codes, sitewide.

Set 1:

Set 2:

The second set points towars the home of the subdomain, even from the individuall pages.

The first set does point towards individual pages, but doesn’t include all the subdomains; and points towards url’s that will be changed at a later point in time.

What I would like to achieve is proper hreflang-tags; which means removal of the tags above; and replacing them with tags that point towards specific pages in that language.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve dealt with hreflang setup in the past and can tell you it’s complex.

My advice would be to see where the current tags come from and remove them (probably some SEO app)

And then check if there is an app that can help you with the correct hreflang setup.

You need specific setup for each product page and doing it manually won’t be fun.

I saw there were a couple apps in the app store that claim to do that and work with Shopify markets.

Good luck.

As K_Br4 mentioned with apps, Digital Darts: Hreflang Tags is one, which we own. Our support help users remove any other duplicate hreflang tags so your hreflang tags are perfect.

Looking at your theme’s source file, the second lot of hreflang tags are probably inserted through your theme.liquid from a customization done by a developer.

If you have another Shopify store, these URLs need to be in your hreflang tags, which Shopify can’t handle by default. It’s what our app solves.
