You can’t use the online store sales channel because of an error

Hello Guys l am trying to set up a shop using the trial period of Shopify . l am getting this error “You can’t use the online store sales channel because of an error To fix this error, add the online store sales channel. You can remove it later.”

l have added the sales channel as shown but sadly still the error is persistent.

To get right into your question, this error should definitely be resolved after adding the online store sales channel. Let’s rule out any local errors to ensure that the change did indeed go through:

  • Try clearing cache/cookies of current browser
  • Try from a different, up-to-date, browser
  • Try from a different network connection

If the issue still persists at that point, please share your store URL with me and I will connect with you via email to sort this out.

Hey Olivia ,l just completed trying out the steps that you suggested but sadly,none worked.

l even removed all Sales Channels and added them back again but none worked.

Pleas help me solve this issue.

Below is a screenshot Shopify telling me the store has been successfully removed yet the store still remains with the error.

My Store name is "Shoe Shelf Kenya"

I tried but I’m not sure why it’s not showing up. I have the online store added under sales channel but I still do not see my products on my store. I am on a trial run. My store is mzjaxs10.com

Kindly clear your browser Cache or simply save your Theme by having it sent to you under the theme options… delete it… the reimport it from your mail and all will be well.

I wanted to chime in and also ask that you make sure to customize your home page to make products visible there, @mzjaxs10 . You can do this by heading to Admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize > Home Page, but also check out this detailed guide for further instruction on customization.

I found the solution hehe. I’m using the 4 months free trial, but I hadn’t chosen a plan yet. As soon as I choose a plan and put my credit card in, the message disappeared (and the store and themes started to work).

I’ll still have my 4 months of free trial, which is great.

Just to let you know that I’ve tried the steps that you mentioned but it didn’t work. Maybe selecting a plan and putting the credit card could be one of the solutions.
