I’m Herman, a developer based in South Africa. I got pulled into the Shopify world through my wife’s custom-jewellery store — she runs a busy made-to-order operation (a few thousand orders a month, ~20 people on the production line), and I ended up building the production-tracking tool she needed to stop losing orders in a messy multi-step pipeline. That project became Route to Ship.
