Can I use shopify payments without SSN but have an LLC instead?

Hello Guys,

As exactly per the subject title, I currently need a payment proccesor, and was wandering if I Can use shopify payments without SSN but having an LLC in the US. can this work, and if yes, what should I do about the SSN- section in the shopify payments application?

Hi Helen,

I came across this dialogue in trying to find a way to resolve my issue with shopify payments. Im in a similar situation as Elabnoudy. My business operates in the US. I have an LLC and I hold necessary documents for the business i.e. EIN number, Sellers Permit and articles of corporation. However I live outside USA and I dont have a SSN. Is there a way I can be assisted?

Hello @Helen , I have the same problem.

I have an LLC company and I am based in Israel and don't have SSN, can you please send to the Shopify payments team for review?

Therefore, please visit the Shopify Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request via live chat, email, or callback. Hi @Helen

I am in the same boat, US LLC company, suppliers, team, customers etc, have all the docs required.

I've been given the run around now since 18th April 2021 and I'm still being told to wait for a response. 

Any chance you can follow up on this with me?

Surely you can't be running over five months of backlogs with the financial or tax team in relation to customer enquiries?

Initial Ticket number - 23417690 - April 18th, 2021

I’ve also been given ticket number 26397056, not sure why, maybe one of these was in relation to setting up stripe as a temporary fix. 

Today I am being told that I should be patient and wait to hear a response using Ticket number - 23063224 - September 28th, 2021

I would really appreciate any help you can offer.

I’m afraid that I am unable to access account specific information here via the Community at this time, so I can’t authenticate you in order to follow up on the ticket numbers you’ve been so kind to share. However, I do know that the Tax Services team is dealing with a significant backlog of requests and inquiries (for Shopify Payments requests among other issues). You’ve done the right thing by reaching out to live support for an update. I know it’s frustrating to be told to continue to wait, but we really do appreciate your patience.

I've the same issue. I've a LLC in US but I live in Dubai. I have a bank account and ein number for my LLC in US. How can I proceed with Shopify Payments. Could you please assist me?

Therefore, please login to your store through the Help Center to get in touch with a Support Advisor by live chat, email or phone callback; They’ll be able to authenticate your account and escalate your request for review to the Shopify Payments department.

 

Please note: Due to support demands currently being very high, the wait time for review can be lengthy. Therefore, do you already have another payment gateway available to use in the meantime?

I am also seeking for my account to be reviewed and to be activated for Shopify Payments as I am a non-US resident but have LLC regestired in the US with all the tax files.

 

I have checked all the third-party providers but am willing to go with Shopify Payments rather than choosing the third parties, would appreciate the help.
