How to cancel a paused account that's still charging?

Hi, I have my account on pause but I wish to cancel it. I am constantly getting charged but I am not even using it.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'd be happy to provide some guidance on how you can deactivate your shop, to ensure this gets resolved. 


If you wish to no longer run your online shop, you can check out our Pausing or Deactivating Your Store documentation for steps on how to complete this. 


To deactivate your store, you can: 


  • From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.

  • Click Deactivate store.

  • If applicable, review the options to switch to the Pause and build plan, or start a new store.

  • If you still want to deactivate, then click Deactivate store.

  • Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.

  • Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.


It's important to note that your store's information is guaranteed for 2 years. If you'd like to re-open your shop at any time, please feel free to log back in and select a plan.
