We have shopify set up to collect sales tax in about 20 states. It annoyingly breaks down sales tax by state and county and the way we have it set up, we’re charging one rate based on one county. So if a person orders from another county, its showing them the wrong county which is confusing and frustrating to them. We get emails regularly asking for refunds as low as like 50 cents.
Anyone know how to switch this off so it just shows one sales tax line without showing the county?
Hey there, @talmoore10!
Ryder here, from the Social Care Team at Shopify. Thanks for posting!
There isn't a way to turn off the county sales tax breakdown, as our United States Taxes are calculated and displayed automatically based on your physical presences. Nevertheless, I'd love to learn more about the issue you're experiencing to see if there's a way we can troubleshoot it or work around it. If there isn't, then I'd at least be happy to submit a feature request on your behalf once I better understand the issue at hand.
I've gone ahead and sent you an email to the email address associated with your Community Forums account. If this is the same email address you use for your store, you can simply respond and provide your shop's .myshopify.com URL and some examples so that I can have a look. If you use a separate email address, you can CC the correct one on file and respond through there.
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
