Can an expansion store be added on Shopify Plus?

Hi,

We are using Shopify Plus with the Wholesale option. We want to be able to add new features and functionality which we are not able to do through the wholesale functionality so are now looking into an Expansion Store. Is an expansion store only available on Shopify Plus? If so is there any additional cost to what we currently pay for Shopify Plus. Also does an expansion store use the same stock control as our first store?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! To provide some guidance on expansion stores, I would recommend checking out our Creating Stores In Your Shopify Organization for further details. 

This feature however, is specific to Shopify Plus merchants and unavailable to those on our any of our Shopify Basic, Shopify, and/or Shopify Advanced plans. In addition to that, pricing would depend on the current contact and purpose of the expansion shop being created. As a general rule, you have access to the following: 

• 10 expansion stores in total (1 being the main shop, and 9 expansions) for no additional charge. 
• Unlimited number of staging/development stops (i.e not selling to customers and being used for testing purposes). 

It's important however, to review your current Plus Contract with our Merchant Success Team to confirm those details. You can Contact Support to be placed in touch with the shops Merchant Success Team to discuss this further. 

As for functionality of expansion shops, they will all have same native features/functions available as the main shop! There are however, strict eligibility requirements that need to be met in order to create an expansion shop. These include: 

• Must be an extension of the Main Brand
• Must be identical to the Main Brand with respect to Store name 
• Must carry the same goods and services as the Main Brand
