Suspended for policy violation so tried to fix issues didn’t work, now Google Merchant Center Website URL claim lost. They said I could try set up another account so I did , was suspended again for misrepresentation on new account. Probably not a good idea to set up another account as I know there are still a number of other issues with my products i need to fix however Im lost with everything else, perhaps its my lack of stock or copied descriptions from suppliers, or I do not have address only email and phone. But in the meantime i cannot delete these accounts as they said they are sub accounts but I do not know what is the main account as I am the only user and there seems to be no way to see parent account. Please any advice would help I’m totally confused and frustrated trying to sort this out!
ive done the same thing… I kept getting suspended as I didnt complete set up properly, tried everything to fix and found some solutions however in the meantime i tried to disconnect my google merchant account from shopify, re connected and created a new account by accident, now i cant delete the 2nd merchant account and im stuck in limbo as ive breached policies.
how do i fix this?
hoping you can help as ive searched high and low and cant find any answers. Google merchant community forum advised i could be stuck in violation due to the 2nd account created, and then ive found your post here.
here is a case number
i am brand new and still navigating my way around the different software programs 🙂
If you created the 2nd account within Shopify, only Shopify can delete it. Contact Shopify for support on deleting your account.
Google's merchant account setup is a conflict of interest. We, the shop owners, advertisers, are google's customers, but Merchant Center wants our customers to be Google's customers. They want to be the storefront without any involvement in the inventory, customer service or logistics. Since they're not actually selling it, they have no way of knowing what they're selling. They can't tell us what their requirements are because some of us might use that to circumvent the systems that try to figure out what they're selling on their store. In typical Google fashion, created a paradox and assigned a robot to sort it out.
I take issue with Shopify's approach, presenting this mess as something you can setup with a few clicks. I just wanted to run ad campaigns. I had no interest in or plan to sell through Google shopping- I don't know anyone who's ever bought anything through Google shopping. I've worked on other stores that had fully approved, established google merchant accounts that never sold a single thing in over 2 years. But instead of going to Google and simply using my existing ad account, I followed the steps in Shopify's app and, like everyone else, had my merchant account suspended for a things I have no idea about, and because it was linked to my ads account, now that's suspended too.
Facebook, to its credit, at least told me what was wrong with items it didn't like, reviewed them fairly quickly and lifted the suspension. The system had erroneously marked gift cards I had created on Shopify as Tickets & event promotions, which are prohibited.
I have no doubt Google's system did something similarly stupid, but they won't put a phone number up, or a direct email address or chat (any of the things they demand of a Shopify store with a merchant account.) Their contact form simply gives auto replies to the suspension appeals with bad automated advice to create new merchant accounts. I finally filed a complaint against them with the California Attorney General.
If you are still around and assisting, could I get some help, got the same advice after a year of trying to fix what no one will tell me to fix. I did absolutely everything advised on sites, everything is present and still no luck.
@Clindorfer to delete an account, if create via the free google shopping app built by Shopify, can only be done by Shopify. If you created the account yourself, you could easily delete it, however if you created it within Shopify, then it's under Shopify's main account and only Shopify can delete it.

@quickdesigns I have replied to your question here: https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussions/account-suspension-and-grey-tick-at-the-end-of-m...
Do not delete the account, just to create a new one if you are suspended. As this will be seen as circumventing policy violation and will lead to a permanent ban.
