I am looking to advertise my products with a banner (UTM campaign) on other sites, I have been asked how long cookie duration is when someone clicks on the banner and is taken to my shopify store. This is important as the customer might browse and then leave without purchasing, then return 20 days later and make a purchase.
Can I change cookie duration?
Is there a better way of tracking this?
What platform are you running this advertising from, presumably from Google Adwords? 30 days is considered the standard cookie window for conversion value attribution. You can amend this up or down, the nature of your product and the typical research/purchase pathway for your sector will help you decide upon a sensible cookie window length to use.
