Discounts for Subscribers

Hello everyone. First off, apologies if this is in the wrong place, I made my best guess.

What I wouldf like to do is create this situation:

1) A customer signs up to my mail list,

2) Recieves a code, and

3) Recieves 50% off any item in the future when they use this code.

Kind of like an insiders club thing. 

I did a search, at the closest thing I could find was this thread:

Is there anyone I could pull this off? Preferably in a way that is free? 😄

Rachel here from the Shopify Guru Team!

You can get that workflow done with a little help from the Mailchimp App. When a visitor enters an email address into the Newsletter Signup at the bottom of your homepage, they get added to the Customers section of your admin. The Mailchimp app will sync your Customers to a list in Mailchimp.

You can create a discount code in your admin and take advantage of Mailchimp's free Automation functions to send new subscribers the discount code by email immediately after they sign up.
