How would I market my products on facebook?

Hello, around a month ago I started my own shopify store (https://hoodiebros.com) and it has gone not too bad, a few sales here and there but not as I would like.

All the sales I received were from posts I made on reddit and recently I've put lots of money into facebook ads and am yet to generate a sale from there. I have been trying to target the correct audiences but I'm not sure if I'm doing the best job I can do.

I would like to know if my website has the potential to sell products through facebook ads and some of the audiences I could target for my products.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey, James.

Leon here from Shopify Support.

Apparel sales like hoodies definitely have the potential to generate sales through Facebook. With social media being accessed by over 69% of U.S. adults there is huge opportunity to sell products using social media ads, but due to the user base being so large you do need to target those ads appropriately.

There are a number of tips and tools you can use to make this less intimidating and increase the success of your ads:

  • Facebook offers a few tips for targeting and segmenting users when creating ads on their platform in this guide here: https://www.facebook.com/business/a/facebook-ads-targeting-tips.
  • In the Shopify guide "50 Ways to Make Your First Sale" there is a chapter that covers running ads on Facebook for your Shopify products. You can read that guide here: 50 Ways to Make Your First Sale: Facebook Advertising 101
  • There is a category of the Shopify blog dedicated to providing guidance and tips to marketing on Facebook. You can visit that blog category here.
  • You can also use a virtual assistant, like Kit, to take care of this for you by setting up ads and retargeting those ads on both Facebook and Instagram through their shared ad platform. Kit is free to use for all Shopify Basic and higher plans, but you're still responsible to pay for the ads you create. Install Kit in your store by visiting the Shopify App Store.

I hope this helps you out!

All the best,

Leon

Hey James,

Congratulations on your new store. All the hoodies are really cool.

Considering the engagement you are getting on your facebook posts, facebook ads could be the major source of your revenue. Read this article, it will give you an idea to find just the right audience for your store. I see that you already have a facebook pixel on your store. Try running dynamic product ads to the people who have already visited your store. Retargeting ads work the best.

Apart from ads, make sure that you do organic products. Orangetwig will take care of your social media marketing. It autogenerates your posts (products in well designed templates) and you can schedule the post. Here are some sample posts.

I see that you have presence on Instagram as well. To get more and more engagement, you need to use the right hashtags. Check out hashtag research tool to find the right hashtags for you. Check out Instasuccess toolkit. Also, apart from posting only product pictures, you can try posting other content which is somewhat related to what you sell. This will help you build following
