What's your experience with MailChimp?

I know a lot of people use MailChimp - it's easy to connect to Shopify and easy to get campaigns up and running. But I'm curious to know what people think about it and how many are using some of the more advanced features like automation. Some of the questions I have are:

• Are you happy with the emails you design?
• How do you feel about your opt-n offer / list building efforts?
• Are you using much automation?
• If you are using automation, was it easy to get going?
• What do see as the biggest opportunities to get more out of MailChimp??

I use it - we were set up before I started with the company. If I had a choice I probably would have gone with Klaviyo - more expensive but better automation. We have recover cart set up which does work well, and automated sequences that go out after a subscriber joins our newsletter. I would like to have a multiple email follow sequence- but not sure where to set it up.
