Is there a new restriction around write_checkouts scope?

We have one custom app running on a production site, which adds discounts to line items on the checkout based on customer type. App is working fine and has "write_checkouts" scope.

However when I try to run same app on development app - development store I get this error upon PUT request to checkout:

403 - {"errors":"For access to web checkouts, contact support through your Partner Dashboard."}
When I check new docs, it looks like checkout is now available only to one app type called "sales channels". However our custom app somehow has the "write_checkouts" scope and we rely on this functionality on a production store.
Can someone enlighten me about this, I just want to make sure we wont have a left out situation because a scope is decided to be made exclusive.

Hey @malipetek-truth

Thanks for getting in touch - I think the best place for this will be to raise this situation with Partner Support and they'll be able to advise.  Apologies if you've been directed to the wrong place initially!

You can contact Partner Support by following the guide here/direct from your Partner Dashboard - if you supply Partner Support with the app name and the store you've seen this checkout error on, they'll be able to help you out - feel free to reference this forum post in your interaction with them. Hope that helps!

Hi there.

After many hours of trying to get webhooks and checkout updates running, I finally came to a similar situation,  "403 - {"errors":"For access to web checkouts, contact support through your Partner Dashboard."}".

Did contacting Partner Support help you out? If so, what was the outcome?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, unfortunately my client gave up on requested changes to checkout. Therefore I did not ask for support to enable it to equalize our dev env with prod env. Maybe you can contact upon seeing this thread.
