shopify poll status api giving error as failed to fetch

Actually I am using shopify payments which has been integrated via graph QL api's but I am polling for the status of the transaction for 5 times but i am receiving a response saying "Payment could not be completed due to an unknown error. Error: Failed to fetch. please try again"
