Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Hello,
We are using the localization / markets functionalities by Shopify. We have a multi-regional and multi-language site.
Also we have multiple domain names: .de, .fr, .be, .shop etc.
For .shop we want to enable all languages. But if Shopify recognizes they are living in France we want to redirect them to the .fr domain name.
However, we are struggling with the following. If a customer is living in France, but English speaking. Should we redirect them to .shop with main language in English? Or should we add the English language to the .fr domain? Resulting in .fr/en/ shop?
What will the impact be if we have .shop and .fr/en/ both in English? Will Shopify put canonical to .shop?
Best,
Sven
