How can I find and translate Metafields in the Translate & Adapt App?

Hello, I would like to translate my Metafield definitions, but I can't find them in Translate & Adapt.

I've looked in several places: the Metaobjects section is empty, the Store metadata section shows remnants of old applications (Langify and Transcy), but my Metafield definitions do not appear.

I know I can translate them one by one in each product sheet, but it's time-consuming. I would like to translate the Metafields directly to avoid doing it for each product.

Is this feature offered in Translate & Adapt? If so, where can I do it? Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @Baptgrrr , it's where you wrote "I know I can translate them one by one in each product sheet" - metafields don't have a singular instance that can be translated, in terms of translations consider each metafield as having a different instance wherever it's used. Shopify doesn't have a 'one to many' data model at this stage (which is also why product tags can't be translated). You can save time and do this in bulk using the CSV export - Settings > Languages > Export, and find the default language copy in column G, filter down to just these, then paste the translation in column H across all relevant rows. Then export just these as a CSV and re-upload

Hi @richbrown_staff , thank you very much for this quick response. It's very clear! I will do that.

Another question, do you know if it's normal to have traces of old applications (Langify in particular) in the Store metadata? I ask you this because a few weeks ago I tried to translate the cookie banner of the "Consentmo GDPR Compliance" application in this section, but it didn't work. Basically, the fields of the app did not appear. I contacted "Consentmo GDPR Compliance" support to solve the problem and followed their instructions step by step, but we couldn't fix the issue. According to the support person, it could be due to these traces of old applications. I finally gave up with the arrival of the possibility to translate the cookie bar of Shopify with Translate & Adapt. But I wonder if this is normal and clean or if I should contact the old applications again. What do you think?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi, can you tell me how to filter the export or use the export settings to have the right fields to translate faster?
