Machine Translation Quota has been exceeded

I have translations of my store in English and Portuguese, which until today have worked fine. But al of a sudden I have began to receive the message "machine translations quota has been exceeded"

Even though I have a large number of products, at least this year I should not have exceeded the quota I saw in another post. What is the official quota anyway?

I'm willing to pay if necessary for the additional translations to be completed, I don't want to install a third-party app. Is this possible?

I have to say that translating my webiste has significantly increased my sales, and I consider it an absolute must. What can be done? I need an urgent answer, as I just uploaded a bunch of products that sit with no translation in my website.

Hi @Kuadros , 1 - yes as long as it is one of the apps in the collections I linked to. Those apps are compliant with the Shopify translations API. 2. It was linked to under the word 'here' but here it is again: https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-translate-adapt/want-to-test-new-betas-from-translate-amp-ad.... 3. I can't know unfortunately, that would be a condition of Google. Worth a try. That is a lot of content though so restrictions are likely, and a 3P app might be the safest way to go

I don't know what you're referring to with the error message you've received, so I wouldn't be able to confirm what the translation limit is for what you're using.

I would strongly recommend using the T-Lab app though, to handle the automation of translations (https://apps.shopify.com/content-translation).

If you're translating into just 1 language, then it's free. If you need a full 20 different languages, then it's only $30/month USD ... and you could - in theory - remove the app after using it to translate everything (if you don't plan on adding any other products/pages afterwards).

Hi @Kuadros , beautiful store. There's a limit of 1 million characters. There is not currently a way to pay for more through the app though we are looking at paid models. Beta info and signup here (though it won't immediately unlock this for you). There are three options going forwards:

1. Manual translation, you can add unlimited translations if you translate manually in Translate & Adapt. This includes copying your default content into something like Google Translate, then pasting the resulting translations in yourself.

2. Using a 3rd party app alongside Translate & Adapt. Translate & Adapt doesn't own the translations of your store, they're stored in Shopify databases via the admin API. This means that other API compliant apps, such as any of these, can also generate translations for your store and they're mutually editable.

3. A CSV workaround described here.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Rich.

Option 1 is not useful. CSV is a possibility but a manual endeavour.

So option 2 means that:

1. I will be able to install a third-party and just add more languages as
needed and translations, and they will keep the same scheme set up by
Translate & Adapt?
2. You did not send the Beta info and sign up
3. If I use the CSV option, will I hit the daily limit for updates for
stores with more than 50k variants?
