Global expansion, localizing content, and selling in multiple currencies and languages
Not sure if I have selected the right location, apologies if I didn't.
I have chosen a domain name that I would like to use that has no numbers in it, however, it won't let me select it indicating that there are numbers in the name. Not sure what I am doing wrong as is quite frustrating.
Regards
Keith

Hi, @PacificBlue!
Thanks for reaching out. I looked into our documentation and it seems that this error can occur when a merchant uses non-English characters in a part of their store settings, eg. address or name. It can also happen if the phone number is not in the appropriate format, as per OpenSRS' requirement.
I recommend navigating to Settings > Store details to check if there are any non-English characters or special characters. If there are, you can remove them and try to purchase the domain again.
Please let me know how that goes!

Hi, @PacificBlue!
Thanks for getting back to me. The error is likely occurring because of non-English characters in your store settings, not the domain itself. If your store address contains a character like "ß" or "Å", this would affect the purchase of the domain, since OpenSRS has specific billing information requirements. I recommend logging into your Shopify admin and navigating to Settings > Store details to verify whether there are any special characters in your address or name. If there are, you can replace those characters with their English counterpart (for example, straße
should be strasse
).
Let me know if you're able to make those changes and purchase the domain!
