Add "Customer Notes" or "Additional Details" Form Field?

Does anyone know how to add a form field to the order or checkout process so a customer can add notes or details?

Several themes offer that option in the cart page (a customer note field).

If that is not available in your store's theme, you can add a text field within your cart's form tags, by copying and pasting the cart attribute code from here: https://ui-elements-generator.myshopify.com/pages/cart-attribute

I just tried that and no form field appeared in the checkout process.  My site is www.kevinsconcealment.com  Any idea what I'm missing?

Got the answer from Shopify.  Go to Themes, then Cart, then Cart Page on the left under Sections, and there's a box to check for Show Note Text Box.  They sure did not make that easy to find but there it is, in my theme at least.
