I would like to add a USPS Small Flat Rate Box to my Shopify shipping options (by setting it as a customized flat shipping rate). If I understand correctly, as long as the price set with this customized flat rate box is the amount that will cover the discounted Shopify flat rate amount, it will be shipped with no issue, right?
In othe words, I'm just wondering how USPS knows that the shipping label is coming from Shopify and will accept the discounted price label on the USPS flat rate box (normal USPS flat rate boxes are $8.30 to mail, but the Shopify price is cheaper)?
If anyone has experience in setting up flat rate boxes in their shipping section I'd love to hear how you did it, and any tips.
We are a new store too Apparently you must buy an advanced shipping app to calculate flat rate labels with the accurate dimensions and weight. Since it is a “flat rate”, we just adjust the weight down to 2 pounds and...
we take all boxes to usps and so far, no rejects!
I am having this same problem. Did you figure this out? If so, will you please let me know what you did in order to fix this? I took a flat rate envelope in and had to pay the difference because Shopify is cheaper than the $8.30 flat rate.
After shipping for a month, we were not chgd any extra for shipping as i described above. It’s weird bc we ship usps medium flat rate but the shipping varies between $8.30-$13.40. So I’m just keeping on keeping on the way we’ve been doing it.
